Cowboy Junkies Cover U2 on New Album
Canadian alt.country group The Cowboy Junkies are to release a new album in July, featuring a cover of U2's 'One'.
The album, entitled 'Early 21st Century Blues', also covers songs by Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, George Harrison and John Lennon.
The group set out to find songs written by others that were about war, violence, greed and loss.
"We hoped to reach a critical mass of material that would reach out and touch a couple of hearts and souls. Our goal was to create our own small document of hope," they explained.
'Early 21st Century Blues' will be released on 29 July. The Cowboy Junkies appeared on RTÉ's 'Other Voices' music programme on Sunday.
