In the members-only Tours section of U2.com, the website will be running interviews with members of the Vertigo Tour crew. Currently featured is a Q&A with Tommy Whitelaw, global merchandising manager that includes the following:
Worst Tour Nightmare
Walking into a restaurant on my own at 2am in the morning and coming across 25 bootleg merchandisers at the tables counting their takings. They knew who I was because I’m the one with 20 security staff who confiscates their merchandise outside shows. They promptly chased me for two miles down the road … I could have been an Olympic runner that night.
