What can U2 do to reach the status that The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin have in America?

They cant, they not at that age now. If led zeppelin were in u2's shoes or any other from your list they wouldnt be able to do anything either.

Re: What suould U2 do to become more popular in America?
Quote:
The Rolling Stones are only slightly ahead of U2 in the concert drawing department in the USA. In terms of overall album sales in the USA, Floyd and the Stones are only slightly ahead of U2, despite having been around for nearly 20 years prior to U2. The Beatles album Sales and probably Zeppelins album sales in the USA are untouchable by anyone pratically. What U2 has going for them is that they are still a band, and the biggest band in the world currently as well as being the biggest band in a smaller market like the USA. U2 has been the biggest band in the world since 1987. If the band are together for another 20 years, the sales gained from that period could indeed influence the overall sales figures vs the other bands figures by the time they decide to disband. The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd are no longer bands. U2 is still band and may continue being a band for decades to come. Thats an incredible advantage to have in this situation. |
