Here is where ATYCLB continues to chart around the world in week 73/74:

United States #37
Denmark #73
Netherlands #74
Ireland #24
Belgium #41
Switzerland #65
New Zealand #25
Canada #24
Australia ?

The Australian charts have not been updated yet, but I assume ATYCLB will be in the top 50 still since it was at #30 last week. In Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, and New Zealand, ATYCLB continues to rise up the charts! With the Grammy awards over for a month now, this sudden rise is unusual and unexplained. In the United Kingdom, ATYCLB has dropped of the top 100 album chart, and in Brazil, ATYCLB has dropped off the top 50 album chart there.
ATYCLB sold 32,117 copies in the USA this last week. Total sales in the USA now stand at 3,730,836 for ATYCLB. Total Global sales this week for ATYCLB are estimated at 43,244. ATYCLB Worldwide Total now stands at an estimated 10,706,496!

On ya STING.....

WHYWHY

WOW,
Australian charts are updated and ATYCLB moves up from #30 to #20, 10 spots, with a BULLET!! Whats going on? Has anyone detected the release of a new single in all these countries where the album is on the move again after almost 18 months on chart? Perhaps all of these countries have their own indivudual Grammy type awards which is causing this positive album movement. I'll have to re adjust the international sales figure now, as I calculated it using last weeks estimated figure for Australia.

The reason for ATYCLB rising on the Australian charts is simply a TV advertising blitz that has been running since the Grammys. Certainly no single or other awards shows have helped their sales. Though I have no evidence, they maybe doing the same thing in NZ as the marketing may be being pushed on both sides of the Tasman Sea.

We know that ATYCLB is 5x platinum via the record company advertising (though only 4x platinum on the ARIA chart) and the advertising may be to push this to 6x platinum and/or clear remaining stocks. It must be very close to 6x platinum.

Looks like Easter weekend is going to help ATYCLB sales stay steady this week.

Just looked at the latest Billboard magazine with the full airplay charts for every type of format. Still no sign of U2 anywhere new single or old ones. With album sales looking to be steady this week at around 30,000 bringing U2s total in the USA to 3.76 million, I think that the promotion phase for ATYCLB may be over. I'm starting to think now that there will not be a new single. Looks like the next single from U2 will be for the Best of 1990-2000 which comes out in October. Single and video for a new song for this package will probably be released in September.

No! I hope they release In A Little while......
Not that I like the album version, but i reckon it would storm the charts. I also hope that they hold off on the BEST OF until this new album they are working on has been released. I think it should include the ATYCLB singles and be released sometime at the end of 2004 or mid-way through 2005....
Ofcourse I have no choice in this whatsoever

WHYWHY.

hits numbers are final and U2 lands at #40 with sales of 37,049. This will probably translate to a position just outside of the Billboard Top 40.

Hello,

Things are not looking good in the Dutch charts.

U2 experiences another large drop on the charts as ATYCLB falls 17 positions to #91. This is their lowest position yet and very close to the last position. I fear we might not see the album in the charts again next week. So, everybody, cross your fingers...
(Numbers courtesy of Mega Top 100, http://web.planet.nl/music/charts/megatop100/ )
The total run of ATYCLB so far is:
1-1-1-1-1-3-3-3-6-7
6-5-7-6-6-6-5-6-1-2
8-12-16-25-30-36-38-40-45-48
49-43-39-39-45-42-36-27-15-7
6-6-14-25-29-39-37-43-55-47
38-65-60-66-69-80-81-65-57-61
44-41-44-41-56-58-52-45-51-50
54-74-91
(all information prior to week 40 with many thanks to Flying Padre Jr.)

The Best Of 1980-1990 drops 18 positions to #96. It's now on the charts for 119 weeks.
The Best Of 1980-1990's (10th) chart run is:
86-46-37-45-62-57-61-56-63-45
47-64-63-65-74-73-53-57-60-67
78-96

The #1 album in the Netherlands is still the best of by the most popular Dutch singer of the last few years.

The #1 single is still (for the 8th week) Whenever Wherever by Shakira. It is the best performing debut single by a female, beating Britney's Hit Me Baby One More Time (was she also saying this to her ex Justin?)

There are no U2 singles on the singles chart.

C ya!

ATYCLB comes in at #47 this week on the Billboard chart in the USA. Thats a drop of 10 places, but there was 5 debuts and 3 move ups ahead of ATYCLB, so the album I do not think dropped to much in sales. ATYCLB sold about 32,117 copies last week at #37. The number 47 album last week sold about 26,000 copies last week. Sales across the board are up this week though, plus with all the debuts, I estimate that ATYCLB sold about 29,000 copies this week.
