ABOY # 35 (# 27) - 8th straight week in top 35

Also, interesting to see that another journalist, this time writing the Bono 'Man Of The Year' feature in the new Q magazine, says Bomb has sold 10M... & great to see Bomb continuing to feature well in end of year critics lists (due to it's late 2004 release date) : the new Mojo magazine has it as the 17th best album of 2005.

mediatraffic only tracks sales of albums when they are on the top40 and bomb hasnt been the last few weeks, & mediatraffic only counts for 90-95% of sales anyway.

Good from Netherlands!

Australia: aboy at #48 (40)
dvd vertigo tour stay at #1!

no - virtually no promotion of the album in the UK, i think they will, wait (a mistake IMO) until the New year before promoting Bomb again (perhaps with OOTS)

They should start by dropping the price as Bomb is still available at the highest possible price (£10.99/£13.99) in most major retail outlets, whereas many albums on the top 200 are only there 'cos, in the same stores, they're available at mid-price (£4.99/£5.99).

It can't be far outside the top 200 though : it's currently # 192 at Amazon UK & has consistently been in the top 250/300 there for the last 4 weeks. Before that (when it was selling around 800 copies per week) it was averaging about # 4-500 at Amazon UK.

Yeah, great result from France. Shame it's dropped off the Italian top 100 though, but i guess it's had a damn good run there...

Bomb is at #72 in the Amazon Charts, it's in the Top 100 for 2 or 3 weeks now. I think that there's a good chance it will stay there for while due to the Grammy Nominations.

I hope that Soldatti will get the position of the bomb in the US, if it's still in the BB 200.

Sorry for the delay, but i'm not in home or at job now, actually I'm a bit far until next Sunday.
The album is #183 this week on the Billboard 200 but I don't have the exact sales, I only know that the #181 album sold 9,110 so the sales for Bomb are easily up of 9,000 copies.
The Best Of... dropped form the Comprehensive chart but it remains at #42 on the Pop Catalog chart.
I'll try to get the numbers soon.

Thanks for the info, good to hear that the album is in the BB 200 for a third week and that the sales are high. With the grammy nominations, it should stay in the charts next week.

thats shocking from Germany. why arent U2 very big there?

I suspect this is the position in an overall DVD chart, rather than purely a music DVD chart ?

In the UK there has hardly been any promotion/advertising (even in-store) very strange given the volume of DVD's sold at this time of year.
Mike

# 49 is the position on the top 100 album chart.

It entered at # 1 on the German music DVD chart. So i imagine it's still at # 1 or in the top 3 / 5.

It will be interesting to see the Canadian chart for this coming week.

On the Alternative albums for wk 54 HTDAAB is at #32 up from (#35 last week), and the #31 album on the alternative chart is at #98 on the overall chart.
So Bomb must be just one or two places out of the top 100... maybe it will get in this week?
Best of 80-90 is only a couple of places behind it.

Sounds good : will be way cool if it returns to Canadian top 100... i guess the Grammies are now gonna make this a v.real possibility.

Great news from the UK as Bomb did, afterall, re-enter the top 200 this week (or last week now) :

Albums :
Bomb # 187 (RE)
Best Of 80-90 # 194 (# 166)

Singles :
ABOY # 129 (# 146)

Overall album sales were MASSIVE with the # 149 album selling 2,553 so both Bomb & Best Of 80-90 would have each sold around 2,000. Total est. UK sales for Bomb up to this point are therefore 1,198,000 & with Week 55 sales also now in i'm fairly certain the 1.2M mark has now officially been reached !!
