edge3, do you have the TV airplay chart or the link for it?

The R&H DVD is always a steady seller but i think these recent boosts in Ireland & the UK might be 'cos of sudden special deals (eg £5.99) in HMV or Woolworths or somewhere

Yeah, i think it's done v.well to get to # 11 so soon & i'm sure that's higher than City ever got...& maybe Sometimes & Vertigo (i'd have to check).

In the Netherlands the album keeps on dropping. This week it dropped 7 positions to #43. Not too bad if you ask me, considering the time it has been out.

Here's the full chart run:
How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb (27-11-2004)
1-1-2-3-4-4-5-6-7-8
6-1-1-3-6-4-8-10-11-14
17-17-24-28-23-30-32-38-34-28
16-14-9-5-4-6-8-11-14-20

hows COBL doing in all US charts

COBL is a sort of "underground" hit in that it's been on a few charts for over 4 months now. Sometimes did the same thing, but also charted all over Billboard. COBL actually showed up for the first time on Billboard last week, debuting at #40 on the Adult Top 40.

COBL has been in the Top 10 on Triple A radio since June, too, with three unique runs towards the top spot. It's up from 6 to 4 this week and still with a bullet. As for BB's Adult Top 40, should know tomorrow if it goes anywhere on that chart.

Kinda amazing with no video or promotion (video was played for two weeks at most on the video channels...then disappeared). I can't figure out if U2 plans to actually try to promote COBL with the 3rd leg, or if LPOE will be unofficially released after the download is made available. It might be hard to promote a song that was played for charity, but LPOE is great live, and that version in particular was noticed by several of my friends who don't even follow U2.

Who knows what's next for N.A. singles...seems like U2 and Interscope saw no reason to formerly release or promote anything after Vertigo, which is a shame.

Few signs of life on Billboard

Billboard is updated for October 1st, and COBL holds steady at #40 on the Adult Top 40 but with an increase in airplay.

The Top 100 Albums of Europe shows HTDAAB still hanging in there, maybe for just one last week, as it falls from 57 to 83. No sign of ABOY yet, but I'm amazed at how good this single version sounds compared to the album version, and I think it will do well, which just might help HTDAAB sales.

BTW - over at UKMIX.com Hanboo has just posted the BESTSELLING ALBUM ARTISTS THIS WEEK in the USA list & U2 came in at # 86 with 15,000 total albums sold.

I take it this means total overall album sales? Looks like HTDAAB and Best of 1980 to 1990 would account for at least half of the total.

Yep : possibly 5K for Bomb + 3K for BO 80-90 + 7K for Rest of Back Catalogue

UK : Unfortunatley Bomb drops off the top 200 but probably only 'cos of end of summer discounting for certain old albums at HMV & Woolworths. Otherwise :

Albums :
BO 80-90 # 117 (# 108)

Singles :
Vertigo # 128 (# 153)
COBL # 175 (# 146)
Sometimes # 231 (# 224)
