can't say it any better than those who have posted above. it just shows the effect of the manufacturerd talentless crap that is x-factor. i had a good laugh when rage against machine made it to uk #1 instead of that x-factor winner kid.
they even gave him a song (miley cyrus - the climb) which was out earlier this year, wheres the sense in that, it originally reached #11, yet beacuase this guy was from 'x-factor' the teeny brigade rushed out to buy (download).

as U2 have said in the past, there could never be another U2, in todays market.

Well, why not? It was apparently a success the first time, so I guess the record company thought it could capitalise on that success and release another version. It has been like this for the past century, so if it still works, why not do it?
 
Susan Boyle captured the imagination of the UK and US public in a way that U2 didn't this year. The tour got a lot of attention; the album didn't. Shrug.
 
No worse then Lady Gaga being at the top. Will be interesting to see if those torrid sales continue into the new year.
