I did previously wonder about the timing of the hitlist chart compared to mediatraffic. With Faith Hill number one on the latter, on not yet featuring on the former, one has to conclude that the Hitlist chart next Sunday/Monday is the comparitor to the mediatraffic chart published today.

Wow, incredible results all round...especially Denmark!!

I'm surprised that sales actually went down at mediatraffic though...i'll now estimate that it sold 40,000 this week with 41,000 last week & 42,000 two weeks ago - though i know this could still be a bit too low :

7,802,000 + 37,000 (w.33) + 38,000 (w.34) + 44,000 (w.35) + 42,000 (w.36) + 41,000 (w.37) + 40,000 (w.38) = 8,044,000

That's also fantastic news from Spain...but the PDF chart says that JT is a New Entry as opposed to a Re-Entry for The Best Of 1980-90...so maybe this is a new edition of JT or something...which is why it is only certified Platinum, right?

This often happens when an old album recharts. It is listed as new, and a very old certification is given. On the catalog charts in the USA, sometimes an old album comes back on that chart that is multi-platinum, but is listed with only a Gold certification. This is usually corrected in the next week or two though.

thx Sting...Btw in Poland the other week JT was also listed as a New Entry - the reason being that the current chart was a new / different chart to when JT was last on the chart...maybe that's the same for Spain? Also, maybe that old Platinum certification (in Spain) used to be equal to 200K / 300K as opposed to 100K today?
