Amazon charts France now :

Boy : # 59
War : # 60
Bomb : # 86

Btw - there's another world album chart called Hit List which seems to include more sales info than Mediatraffic although it doesn't seem to be very 'official'. Anyway they have last weeks worldwide sales of Bomb at 51,600 (44,000 the week before) & it is 8xPlatinum which must mean it's sold 8M on their chart. Here's the link :

So, the atmosphere before italian tour (20-21 Milano and 23 Rome) helps the bomb to gettin' higher.
I'm hoping, anyway, something better in the next two weeks.
No other catalogue albums in the top 100.

Not bad - I certainly never thought they'd both increase! I reckon Bomb sold about 38,000. So total estimated mediatraffic sales now :

7,802,000 + 37,000 (w.33) + 38,000 (w.34) = 7,877,000

Quite an interesting comparison to mediatraffic. maybe the sales relates to shipments - although that would make Bomb around 9m. Also the number of weeks in the chart (for Bomb) looks low.

Mike

PS Greenday sales looks way too high

good news on mediatraffic.

does anyone know what "cumulative sales since 2002" means on the mediatraffic all time albums chart? is it because those albums have left the top 40 and then re-enterd, without the sales it spent off the chart being counted?. and why are there only cumulative sales from 2001 and 2002, not from 2003 and 2004 on the list?

Well check out the foreign artists on this weeks (July 18th) album chart in Poland - almost as good as Ireland!!!!

24 (46) U2, The Joshua Tree (24)
27 (re) U2, The Best Of 1990-2000 (2)
28 (19) Black Eyed Peas, Monkey Business (13)
30 (new) U2, Achtung Baby (30)
31 (44) Gorillaz, Demon Days (13)
34 (26) System Of A Down, Mezmerize (5)
40 (33) Faithless, Forever Faithless: The Greatest Hits (12)
44 (new) U2, The Best Of 1980-1990 (44)

The cumulative sales is just the amount the albums have sold whilst they've been on mediatraffics top 40 chart since mid 2002. If they re-enter then the number goes up - eg you may have noticed that Coldplay's AROBTTH has just re-entered (again!!) at # 40 & it has now gone 4xPlat (meaning sales of 8M). I guess it would have sold about 35K (it sold about 40K when it re-entered the other week) so it's total sales are probably now about 8031M on their chart.
