Week 24

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Hopefully will be at least #17 (to match HTDAAB re-entry during vertigo tour)

pink and james morrison both had big rises, not sure reasons for this. eminem moved up 5 places, yet his latest single appears to have been dropped from radio1 playlist (didnt last long)

when the 360 tours gone from UK, i think the album will be out of the top 40 within a week or two. U2 need a huge hit to sustain sales, but wont get one with this album.

coldplay VLV still hanging round in top50 as of last couple of weeks, lasting effects of a massive single.

So where about is crazy on itunes?

Still another 3 concerts to go here in the UK, so still plenty of chance for the album to rise, and if people bought it today then that will go towards next weeks position right?, the one on thursday is going to be the biggest chance for promotion imo.

No UK sales this week guys, it sold between 4329 and 4639 last week and it had a sales increase this week but it was less than 50%

Bad news for the people who likes the old billboardmagazine site. It's ofline!!! A ******* shame. I did prefer the bbmagazine site because it's more complete than the new billboard site were the boxscore crosses are not listed etc.

So will have to wait for someone who has access to Billboardbiz to post the result, or wait for the actual magazine to hit the news or magazine stand next Monday. In some area's, the magazine actually comes in a week later than the actual release date, so there is the chance that we may not have individual venue results for shows released today for several weeks.

Another unfortunate thing about the new website is that sometimes the boxscore information that they do release is not always updated each week like on the old site.

here they are!

I got em! they just came up a bit ago! the number on the side is their rankings, there were several successful events put out this week.

If the 2/2 indicates two sell out's then that is wong with a reported 88k first night that leaves 76k the second night ! Mike

i thought that they had sold 83,000 tickets ages in advance for 2nd wembley. and someone on this forum said they were there and that ALL tickets sold out by showtime.

Your correct Native, someone on this forum tried to buy tickets just before show time, and ALL tickets had been sold.

That was me :)

Perhaps 88.000 is the maximum capacity with all seats sold. But some blocks low behind the stage, behind the mix position and some blocks in the corners opposite the stage were empty on the first night, many of them covered with black sheets to improve sound.

the Uk increase was probably 2k at the most, everywhere else on average the album stayed steady, up a few places here, down a few places there. so i would say 2k sounds about right. overall sales of 33,000 do seem v. low though, considering its #8 in europe, top 80 in US isnt bad, and doing well in s. america and eastern asia last time i saw too.

what i dont understand is how pinks album shot up by 5,000 last week, yet it isnt even top 50 in the US.

interesting to see well over half of of KOL's sales now coming from the US. sales in europe must be similar to NLOTH's now.

With only 18 weeks left in the year, NLOTH is the 2nd best selling album of the year worldwide.

Anyone out there still want to claim that NLOTH is a "sales flop"?

Don't you know every single album released this year has been a flop :tsk:

You can only say an album is a flop if it has sold poorly against the other albums charting in the same year. Outselling the rest of the competition or coming close to outselling the rest of the competition in a given year is the opposite of a "flop". The Best selling album has never been refered to as a "flop"!

Once again, what an album sold in 2006 is irrelevant to what albums are selling in 2009 in terms of assessing relative success because of the greatly changed market conditions and the economy.
