Next American tour date isn't until September 20th, so the album will more than likely fall out of the charts for a few weeks.....

Wow, first time checking in for some time and it's crystal clear this album won't ever match ATYCLB sales, despite loads of promotion and positive "carryover" effect from following a hit album (look how amazingly sales are front-loaded, even more than normal here and this is beyond the Xmas effect). There is no second hit single to be found on the album, ABOY and Sometimes went absolutely nowhere...perhaps that's why the band gives Vertigo 2 spins a night.

Vertigo has only been recieveing 2 spins a night in europe not the US, and in europe there have been 3 huge hit singles so far with more to come.

Whats the difference between the album and single version of vertigo? The version on the radio sounds exactly like the album version.

Yep, "Single Version" was just a way to get fans to buy "Vertigo" on iTunes before they bought the album.....

Thats great info, soldatti. Do you have the chart runs for all U2 songs down the years on the BB Modern and Mainstream rock tracks charts? I know the peak positions and the number of weeks each song spent at number 1, but i've found it very difficult to find the exact chart runs. Thanks a mill!

Sadly no, you need to be a Billboard.com member to get the chart runs. Joel Whitburn's book of Mainstream and Modern Rock chart is a good source too but only peak and weeks on chart there.
