The Uk ’s 100 Best Selling Albums Of All Time

Ive been waiting for this list for a long time so here it is: the biggest selling albums in UK Chart History. Joshua Tree is at #26. However The Best Of 1980-1990 doesnt appear here despite having sold over 1.8 million, which leads me to believe that the B-Sides version is counted seperately, which would make sense.

UK sure loves Queen. Here in the US I feel they never got the fully appreciation they deserve.

Do you see any other figures that were below the Top 100 like these above? Interesting list, with "Dark Side Of the Moon" at 3.5 million in sales, yet its only been recently certified for sales of 2.7 million as of 2005.

Only one album in the Top100 is disappointing, considering Coldplay have 3.

No they only listed the top 110 albums. Surprised the Beatles only have 3 albums in the list.

Even more startling is the difference in sales between Sgt. Pepper's and Abbey Road..........shows you that in the UK, Sgt. Pepper's was anything but another Beatles album.....

REM has 2 albums and U2 only has 1 ????????????????
Where the hell is "Achtung Baby" ????????????????????
"Out Of Time" just doesn't deserve it - definately not one of REM's best (except maybe the track "Country Feedback"). Gee Whiz.

This is based on sales figures not quality so there is nothing to deserve or not deserve it either sold or did'nt.

Quality, sadly lacking in most of that list, but then again, this is the country where The Sun is the best selling "newspaper," soap opera's, & "reality" tv shows dominate the TV ratings, is it any wonder great albums such as Achtung Baby aren't on the list!

Achtung baby has sold about 1.4 million! not too far off the list! And the Besto Of 1980-1990 would have been at #69 with 1.92 million had they combined the single disk and the double disk versions together!

The exact UK sales total for both versions of Best Of 1980-1990 was 1,919,678 as at end of Saturday 25th December 2006. This would indeed have put it in 69th place on this list if they'd decided to include both versions.

The approx breakdown in sales for both versions are as follows :

Best Of 1980-1990 (1-cd version) = 1,420,000
Best Of 1980-1990 (2-cd version) = 500,000
