How many copies has HTDAAB sold?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Actually, none. Everyone actually has a copy of a previously discarded album of Eminem trying a new style.

ATYCLB also sold around 9 to 10 million copies in its first year. As did The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby. In fact, HTDAAB is one of the best-selling albums of the past year.

BTW, more information about U2 and sales can be found in this forum: http://forum.interference.com/f225.html

I like these results. :D

I strongly disagree, the bomb is the better album ...
There´s just one weak track there (One step closer) as opposed to Wild Honey, Peace on earth and Grace in ATYCLB.

Well, over the past year, since November 23, 2004 no album has sold a total of 12 million copies. There are only two albums in the world that have sold over 9 million copies worldwide in that time frame, November 23, 2004 to November 23, 2005, and those two albums are U2 HTDAAB and Green Day's American Idiot. HTDAAB did a little over 9 million while American Idiot did a little over 10 million.

How can you say that is poor? In 2005, it does not get any better than that!

solar said:
What about Eminem, 50 cent and other "big names" ? :)

Worldwide, HTDAAB has sold more than any 50 Cent album. Eminem's Encore sold roughly the same amount as HTDAAB over the past year. But Eminem's Encore was released a couple of weeks prior to the cut off date for album sales worldwide the way Billboard does the dates, so HTDAAB is indeed the bigger selling album from November 23, 2004 to November 23, 2005.

HTDAAB is one of the 10 biggest selling album of the past 3 years and only Green Day's American Idiot sold more than HTDAAB from November 23, 2004 to November 23, 2005.

HTDAAB is likely to get a huge boost over the next couple of weeks in the US and could very likely reenter the top 40. The album could win the grammy for album of the year and Sometimes could win song of the year. It was nominated for 5 grammys and Original of the Spiecies is gaining airplay on US radio, showing activity on 4 different formats. Also U2 was profiled on 60 minutes on CBS recently. They are getting good publicity and the album is likely to get a big boost beacuse of it.
