I dont know if this has been discussed on here before here are the U2 album certifications for Germany. The link is

For albums up to September 1999 Gold was 250k, Plat 500k
For albums From Oct 1999 up to Dec 2002, Gold 150k, Plat 300k
For albums since Jan 2003, Gold 100k, Plat 200k

War - Gold (estimate 350k)
Under A Blood Red Sky - Platinum (est 600k)
Joshua Tree - 2 x Platinum (est 1.2 million)
Rattle And Hum - Platinum (est 750k)
Achtung Baby - Platinum (est 750k)
Zooropa - Gold (est 400k)
Pop - Gold (est 400k)
80-90 - Platinum (est 850k)
Atyclb - 3 x Gold (est 500k)
90-00 - Gold (est 250k)
Htdaab - 3 x Gold (est nearly 400k)

Yes, these certifications were recently posted. But I think your estimates could be very accurate. So thanx anyway.
