150,000 is the record for a paying concert for one artist and U2 hold that record with their show in Reggio Emilia Italy on the POPMART tour in September 1997

I thought Oasis played to 250,000 in Knebworth?

Edit: No it turns out that was over two nights. Never mind.

Someone here in Italy that has been at the Reggio Emilia show, has the ticket 156k and something more....but some voices tell that the crowd was about 170-180.000.
Incredible show!

I like how they put the Popmart stage in the middle of the highway. it would be the only solid flat weight bearing surface around.

The stage looks absolutely miniscule in comparison to the crowd size.

Actually, I believe it was an airport runway.

I wonder what the record is for free show attendance? Macca played to 500,000 people at his show in Rome in 2003.

In 1997, jean-michel jarre played for 3.5M people in Moscow.
