biggest crowds u2 ever played?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

On Zoo TV it was probably Wembley Stadium, or Hippodrome de Vinnes in Paris. Both around 70,000.

It would've had to be somewhere in Europe in 1993. The US stadium tour, though well attended, doubtfully had any crowds of 60,000 or larger.

On Popmart, they played for 170,000-180,000 fans in Reggio Emilia, Italy. That is the biggest crowd they've drawn in on their own.

80,000 in Roundhay Park, Leeds (August 1993).

U2 soldout three nights at Wembley Stadium plus another 42,000 from a fourth night: 258,000 tickets sold in London

In 1997, the PopMart stop in Reggio Emilia soldout 150,000 tickets (and another aprox 60,000 in Rome) but in 1993 ZooTV Tour sold 368,000 tickets in 8 stadium nights.

Another 75,000 tickets were sold in París, June 1993.

In Italy they've always achieved the biggest numbers since mid 80's...i remeber 3 sold out in Bologna's stadium during the JT tour for a total of 120000 tickets (and they've also played in other cities as well)...U2 is the only foreign act that could compete in terms of gig-goers with the most popular local artists here in Italy

I could be wrong, but I thought someone here said just a week or two ago that the Madison WI show on 9/13/92 broke a record for concert attendance in that state that still stands today - 65,000 at Camp Randall Stadium on the UofW Madison campus.

It stuck out for me because that was my first U2 show. I may be remembering the details incorrectly, though.
