Also WOW the nhl apologized to Vegas for THAT, but didn’t say shit when Trocheck got tripped in New York with a minute left on a Panther lead?

i don't buy that the league apologized for that. as far as i can tell the only person saying that is the vegas GM. though he seems to be the only person on the team that is actually an adult right now so who really knows.
__________________i'm so sick of this team's (and their fans) whining about this. there's no disputing that eakins cross-checked him - that's a penalty. there's no disputing that the hit drew blood - that's four minutes, automatically. yes calling it a major was a mistake, but if you go out and work your ass off to kill the penalty like you're fucking supposed to, it doesn't matter. but apparently the team and their fan base refuse to accept that letting in four goals in five minutes in the third period of game 7 (after losing two consecutive elimination games before that) might actually be the fault of the players on the ice. i really liked vegas last year but no longer. they fucking choked HARD and are acting like a peewee team over it. it's pathetic. |

I buy it. The NHL definitely has a strong bias towards Vegas. They want it to be successful. They know that the league succeeds when Vegas succeeds.

I get the palpable frustration in the postgame, because that major was completely the result of San Jose talking them into it, combined with the injury to Pavelski. They didn't see what happened, which was a pretty common two minute minor. Eakin didn't do anything particularly malicious, Pavelski just fell awkwardly towards another player who knocked him down.
That said, yeah, get over it. If you let that linger, you're entering "Cubs fans obsessing over Bartman" territory. |

at least referees are somewhat used to being scapegoated for a team's failures. it happened to me at least once a week when i reffed peewee and bantam house league games as a 17 year-old and at times the abuse could get pretty vicious - there was one time i actually thought some 45 year olds were going to jump me in the parking lot after the game because somehow they were able to tell better than me from the top of the bleachers at other end of the arena with absolute certainty that a puck did not cross the line even though i was literally standing over the net at the time and clearly saw it go in. the police had to come escort me and the other refs out of the arena to our cars, over a non-competitive house-league game between 14 year olds. i got inured to it pretty quick, though i kinda burned out after a few years and stopped reffing when i went to university. glad it isn't being heaped on some poor random fan this time, i suppose. |

I think the Bruins will win. Just not sure how many games. Will be a tough pill to swallow for this NYer. First the BoSox, then the Pats. Now the Bruins? Damn. But, the Blues have the whole Never Won storyline, so there's that.

I'm sure Yankees fans were thrilled to see the Red Sox win one after beating up on them all those years

Idk you’d know more about your own rivalries than me but I view Chicago as a rivalry akin to the Yankees and the Rays. Only relevant when the Rays are doing well.
Then again, I’m not sure Chicago has a classical division rival ever since Detroit went back east. So, at that, I suppose St. Louis is it 🤷🏻*♂️ |

The Blues came into existence because the Black Hawks owners had an arena in St. Louis and wanted a team there to buy it. Plus, it was closer to Chicago than Baltimore, the other city in consideration at that time. |
