Are we talkin' about practice?
Not a game. Not a game. Not a game. Not a game. Practice, man. Practice. What are we talkin' about? Practice, man. Practice.

Didn't Kevin Garnett do that same schtick when he was in Minnesota?
No one ever talks about the fact that he completely copied that.
It would be like a football player doing the same dance as Ray Lewis and no one mentioned it.
Michael Jordan started the talcum powder thing. So, Garnett AND LeBron stole it from MJ.
Oh and nice how he just ran out, no handshakes, no postgame presser. When the Pistons did that when the Bulls beat them the entire media took a gigantic dump on them...I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that none of the media types say jack shit about Lebron doing it. What a bitch...and leaves Mo Williams to do the presser.
and now lebron does it as a part of his ongoing narcissistic god complex thing in which we're all supposed to bow down to his all knowing greatness. just read his leg... he is a witness to his own greatness.
witness lebron skip out on the post game press conference so he can go home and cry to mommy.

and he's right... i have gained an incredible amount of respect for dwight howard. he's somebody who looks like he really "gets it." and looks like someone who honestly wants to work to get better every single year... and i think in the years to come we will look back on this series as the night that dwight howard entered the conversation of best player in the NBA... and it might even be the night we look back to as the day howard surpassed lebron james.
You guys are all nearly pulling a hamstring jumping on Howard's bandwagon, but I am afraid that you cannot legitimately place him in the ranks of the NBA's elite. I watched Howard for nearly 15 games this postseason and never once saw him make a field goal from beyond two feet. The man is a completely one-dimensional offensive player. Get him off the block or force him to dribble more than once, and he becomes a liability: throwing elbows, committing offensive fouls, making errant passes, and leaving the ball at his hip to be stolen. You mention that Ewing wants to develop a mid-range jumper for him, but do you really expect that to happen in one off-season, or even two or three? To develop a consistent jumper where right now there is only a jerky, horrendously inconsistent baby-hook? And having been in the league five or so years, is this just now becoming a priority? The announcers marvel at his 70% field goal percentage, conveniently leaving out the fact that at times nearly 50% of those field goals are dunks - dunks for that matter facilitated by teammates shooting nearly 50% from behind the arc on some nights. Thus he gets the ball deep in the post and dunks over Z, a center about five years past his prime, and the commentators marvel at "Superman" - a sobriquet just as ludicrous and sycophantic as "The Chosen One" or any other nickname floating around the league.
All things considered, he is physically the strongest player in the league, but has not even a fraction of the raw basketball talent of the likes of LeBron, Kobe, Wade, or even Billups. I see that many of you despise one or the other of the former players owing to their media attention, but the hyperbole in calling Howard their equal must be acknowledged. Let's see what he does against a team with big men who will not let him simply power into the block. Perkins did this in the Boston series and largely neutralized him. Don't be surprised if it happens again against the Lakers.
As for LeBron, can we please realize that the media image is not the man? This is true of any celebrity or sports icon, but many of you seem incapable of realizing that these people are to a large extent encumbered by what the media wants them to be. The media declared LeBron the "Chosen One" - he did not give himself that title. There is no reason to misdirect your displeasure at the media to the man himself. This is the same sort of attitude that goes on in the survivors over in B&C: "I heard Stairway to Heaven twice on the radio yesterday, so it must suck." He cannot control the level of his media exposure, except perhaps by refusing commercial offers - but why would he do that? Would any of you reject millions of dollars in endorsements? LeBron came into the league with the tremendous weight of expectation and has almost invariably handled that pressure with grace. Furthermore if he happens to come to any of your favorite teams in 2010, I doubt that you will then be complaining.

but yes... i'll root for him if he does decide to be a knick.
That said, a huge reason LA is in the finals and Cleveland is not is because the Lakers have big men who can score. Bynum and Odom are better than any PF or C that Cleveland has, and they have Gasol. .
I hate this NBA finals. The only guy I like on either team is Jameer Nelson, and he isn't even playing.
That's wild. In his sideline interview just the other day there was mention of something about doctors telling him he might not even be ready for the start of the 09-10 season.
In the end this is all that matters. When he goes to New York and you begin to root for him then all of this vitriol becomes inconsequential and self-righteous.
As for Howard - and this not meant to be sarcastic - maybe you could tell me what he has been working on for the past five years that he is just now considering an 8-10 foot game. Certainly Duncan, Olajuwan, and Garnett were far more offensively developed by this point in their careers. My suspicion is that Howard is just a physical prodigy; a tremendous defensive player who will never have a well-rounded offensive game.
it was scummy when the pistons did it, it's scummy that lebron did it.
