I think that what the "whatever that's worth" comment was about. He certainly is not goint to hurt that team. We saw in college that he definetly has alot of game. If he comes back from the surgery alright, he should be a great player in this league.

"For whatever that's worth" is not a qualifier for Oden's injury/lack of experience. It's a way of saying "I'm tossing this info out there, who knows what it might mean to you". I am reasonably competent with our language, thanks. I'm just saying that he has just as many "if's" as Bynum does, so to look at Oden as a positive but not look at Bynum as a positive does not register with me. For whatever that's worth to you. |

my mention of greg oden was a throw away... nobody knows for sure what he'll be, but Portland has a very bright future with or without him. if he can be an all star caliber player portland could very well leap frog the Lakers next year, IMO. not to mention that the hornets and jazz could very well pass the lakers as well, especially if they add a piece or two. that said, i was never that big on oden to begin with... and that was before the injury. |

Just thought that Bynum was not bigger or less of a question mark than Oden. |

Apparently Mark Cuban is whining abou the Olympics again...I generally like Cuban but jeez he's a fucking baby sometimes. I mean c'mon...wah wah Yao's illegal screens wah wah Dork might get hurt in the Olympics wah wah Don Nelson. Give it a rest.
Did anyone see the Brian Scalabrine postgame? Guy talks a lot of shit considering his role...at least Rudy had a sack in that game at the end. |

I think does a fantastic job of summing up how awesome it's been being a Boston sports fan lately:

My daughter has that beat...6 years old, 7 championships (her dad's a UConn alum). 9 if you count the Diana Taurasi titles. I think we should all take a moment to thank Eli Manning and the New York Giants because if they lost can you imagine what New England sports fans would be like?

Nobody outside CT does. But in the state there are rabid and I mean RABID UConn women's BB fans. You will find people, lots of people, who insist that the women's teams could beat the men. They hate Pat Summitt the way the rest of the country might hate a Pat Riley or Coach K...it's bizarre really.
The Sox are supposed to be having a pregame ceremony honoring the Celts tonight, apparently wearing the green unis. Should be cool. |
