Sunday was the last day of summer, so we northern hemisphere folks are officially in the autumn. Certain albums fit that mood better than others do...you know the type. That's what this thread is for; list your favorite albums that work out great during the cooler, darker months, even if we haven't quite reached them yet.

Rhapsody sort of reminded me to make this thread by putting up a list of autumn-themed songs, but it was sort of cheesy, and focused more on lyrical content than musical content, though I did appreciate their inclusion of U2's October.

Anyway, here's my list:

TV On The Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain
R.E.M. - Automatic For The People
Radiohead - Kid A/In Rainbows
Modest Mouse - The Moon And Antarctica
Beck - Sea Change
Interpol - Turn on The Bright Lights
Nick Drake - Pink Moon

Bruce Springsteen's The Rising is autumnal, in an odd way, to me. It always seems to make more sense then as opposed to other times of the year.

A couple off the top of my head:

Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
White Stripes - White Blood Cells
My Morning Jacket - It Still Moves

The White Album. (Beatles)
Howl. (BRMC)
Led Zeppelin I.
Don't Believe The Truth. (Oasis)
Binaural. (Pearl Jam)
Lullabies to Paralyze. (QOTSA)
Behind The Music. (The Soundtrack of Our Lives)
How It Feels To Be Something On. (Sunny Day Real Estate)
White Blood Cells. (The White Stripes)

U2...October (too obvious?)
Radiohead...Kid A
Sonic Youth...A Thousand Leaves
Mineral..Endserenading
Elliott Smith...From a Basement on the Hill (I think because it came out in October)

anything by Hayden (could possibly be considered winter music)

In no particular order. Just whatever came to mind bar U2.

1. Document-R.E.M.
2. Heaven Or Las Vegas-Cocteu Twins
3. Notorious-Duran Duran
4. Big Thing-Duran Duran
5. Lovesexy-Prince
6. Human's Lib-Howard Jones
7. Mind Bomb-The The
8.Alladdinsane-David Bowie
9. The White Album-The Beatles
10. Frank-Squeeze
11. Head On the Door-The Cure
12. Kalaidascope-Siouxie & the Banshees
13. Rattlesnakes-Lloyd Cole & the Commotion
14. On How Life Is-Macy Gray
15. Lovers Rock-Sade

It's Spring down here but.....

The Boy With No Name - Travis

A real autumn album. "It's getting colder....."

Has to be................OCTOBER for me. Takes me back to being 12-13 year old, In my mates house on a sunday afternoon, all nice and snug with the gas heater on. My family couldnt afford that luxury....Magical memories!
Soon be the 1st of October, and that means i dig out the album and listen the whole way thro and reminisce:drool:

I usually listen to a crapload of The Cure, Bauhaus, Misfits, and other goth-esque groups in October.

Outside of that, I've never been a "season-music" type person. Usually when I hear someone say "such and such is a great summer album", I don't have any idea why they'd say that. I think I am the equivalent of tone-deaf for "season-music".
