Are you considering the Grizz, LCD/Hot Chip or Passion Pit shows, Ax?

No, though I still haven't actually got around to even listening to Passion Pit. I should do something about that. :lazy:

how were the Crowdies ?

Fucking sensational. Best Private Universe I've ever heard, the new stuff sounds awesome, and how can I say no to an I Love You Dawn snippet? First time I've heard a performance of Don't Dream It's Over better than the studio version too.

You not going to Surfer Blood? Charlotte, Alison, and I will all be there.

Just got back from what was supposed to be Big Star but, after Alex Chilton's death in March, became a tribute show to him and presumably the last Big Star show. The latest incarnation of Big Star - Jodie Stephens, with Ken Stringfellow and Jon Auer from the Posies - played while a bunch of artists alternated sitting in with them. I don't think it was quite as star-studded as the SXSW show, but it included Mike Mills of R.E.M., Sondre Lerche, Brendan Benson of the Raconteurs, John Davis of Superdrag, and others.

The show was at the Levitt Shell, where Big Star recorded Nobody Can Dance back in the day. The show was as inspired as you might expect it to be, in spite of intermittent rain. It's a shame that they probably won't be performing together anymore, because Jon and Ken kill this material. I'm very glad I got to make it.

I'm sure they would be. Michael Franti! Well, he already opened for U2 on the Zoo TV Outside Broadcast Tour (when he was in The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy). Still, I have to say I prefer the early Spearhead (from especially Home and Stay Human).
