Without a doubt, we in Israel are avid concert-goers and our tastes cover a very wide range of artists - here are just a few examples of artists I have seen in concert who have played here and were warmly welcomed by thousands of fans:

Paul Mccartney (Sept. 2008 - I was there together with 50,000 people!)
As you can here, we sang with him....lol - he played up to us and we LOVED him for it!

well I dont know that much but for me from what Ive seen to date, I go for Japanese. They all seem very dedicated and excited.

after all, watching Good Charlotte perform in Tokyo for Live 8, I never saw anything like what I seen that day, it was fantastic!

It isn't the year that matters - its the quality of the musicians that have performed here playing classic songs that can out-class any of today's so-called "music".

Frankly and truthfully - I would go to a Herman's Hermits concert before I'd go see Rihanna or Lady Gaga - but that's just me.

To be fair, the concerts I posted were concerts of artists that I like - there were many others that were here and that I didn't go to:
