WHOOOSH! (Yeah, I'm as bad about dusting as Danny Boy and my record player is OLD. Now you know all of my secrets)

Hold on...

Hold the fuck on.

There's something else in this envelope. I am not fucking kidding right now...

Cocaine or Acid?

I was at eye level with WAMPIRE and lived to tell about it.

They dedicated one to the ladies. They had a fog machine. I mean, I could have asked for more, but why should I?

I have a lot to say about this show, but I'm at work. Just randomly feel the need to tease:

These guys should be huge. They are pretty much everything popular in "indie" right now. Their drummer is stupidly good, they have a fantastic synthetic setup as well.

I never expected to like this band as much as I do when I stumbled across their goofy name, but they may very well be my most anticipated new album.

Wampire thanks you for the decadent ramen noodle dinner they dined on the night they received your order. God bless

I was sad that I didn't have any cash on me last night, so I couldn't buy the poster version of my avatar and give them a few more ramen packages :(

My favorite song I heard the other night that I didn't know already:

Wampire - Trains - Bing Videos

Looks like Bing's got a whole concert up actually, so that's cool. This version's from last year, it doesn't quite sound like this anymore, but this version's still pretty good.

Man their drummer was ridiculously talented. So was the guy on synths. Didn't realize they were a 5-piece, to be perfectly honest.

So Ashley, I was puttering around online this morning and discovered that Wampire released a self-titled album in 2009. It was on a tiny Portland indie label, High Scores And Records, and was released on cassette, of course. (Maybe I'm telling you something you already know.)

They also posted an MP3 version for free on the site, which is long gone, but I managed to track it down. It's in 160 kbps MP3, which is the original format it seems.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested in hearing it.

It's on Grooveshark. I've been avoiding it until I hear Curiosity. I'll listen to it after that, but thanks you :).

I'm actually in the process of purchasing Curiosity right now. Please stand by for my *hopefully* excited review.

So...this album is painfully short. However, I don't think there was any song on the album I didn't like as a result, so that's nice.

Basically, with nine tracks, I already knew 1/3 of it. The Hearse is still by far the best song on here. Trains is brilliant as well. Spirit Forest is weird and fun. These are the songs I already knew.

With the new stuff though, "Giants" was absolutely fantastic, might be my second favorite on the album. "Outta Money" was, maybe, the only song that I don't remember a thing about after first listen. "Snacks" is a really fun interlude right before closer "Magic Light" which was also pretty stellar.

Basically, probably will end up in my top 20 for the year, and I am pleased to own this on both purple cassette and clear vinyl. Well played

Now I can finally let myself listen to the debut.

I thought for sure this thread was getting bumped with news of them getting evicted from their co-opt
