Aside from a few choice cuts, I've always found Bossnova rather boring.

But I prefer Trompe Le Monde to Surfer Rosa.

Yeah, there are a few boring tracks, but there's also stuff like Velouria, All Over the World, Dig For Fire, Is She Weird and The Happening, which I think are all A+++.

Trompe is a bit more solid throughout. Shit, just look at my dumb screenname!

I prefer Dolittle, Murphy's finest comedy of the last twenty years.

Trompe > Doolittle > Surfer > (Come On Pilgrim, if it counts) > Bossanova for me.

Bossanova does have some really great tracks, though. "Dig For Fire" surprises me with how great it is every time I listen to it. Surfer Rosa and Come On Pilgrim are pretty much great the whole way through, just about every song on Doolittle (minus "Silver") is a classic, but Trompe just kills me every time. I'd say definitely their most consistent. Plus, songs like "Alec Eiffel," "Bird Dream of Olympus Mons," and "Motorway to Roswell" embody the Pixies branching out at their best.

Awesome fucking band.
