Odd after the record company seemed to balk at releasing the album that way.

And the Fix It single that I got when I preordered the album on iTunes lists the artist only as Ryan Adams.

Ouch! Rock N Roll is definitely more enjoyable to listen to than Cardinology and probably 29, and Demolition is just a collection of unused tracks. But I would agree with 1 and 2, although I'm a big fan I wouldn't say he's released anything that's a 10/10.

Rock N Roll is a mess... I can't honestly think of any song on that album that I listen to on a regular basis, even This Is It - the stripped down version on the Follow The Lights EP is better imo...
As for Gold, it's decent, I just think his other stuff is better - Demolition included. And 29 is saved by Carolina Rain, Night Birds, Blue Sky Blues and Strawberry Wine.... |

As for Rock n Roll, I love "Burning Photographs" and "So Alive" even if they aren't artistic triumphs, they album is an awesome driving CD.

Yeah, I absolutely love those two, along with Luminol, This Is It, and Shallow. I'm sort of meh on the rest. I'd give it a 7/10.

Obviously in terms of impact and impressive writing from the same time period Love is Hell is much better (but also suffers from the overlong syndrome like Gold) but Rock N Roll is a lot of fun, and I don't think it was supposed to be anything profound, I mean look at the title.

I was waiting until the CD came out, but "Fix It" came on the radio today, and I just couldn't bring myself to change the station. I like it. It wasn't something that made me go wow and be in total awe...but I dig it. I'm looking forward to checking out the whole album.

After a few listens, I'm really enjoying it. The thing that bugs me is that the first four tracks all seem to end so suddenly, and they're probably four of my favorite songs on the album. But still, quality material all around, one of the more consistent in a while.
On another note - do you folks consider Easy Tiger a Cardinals record even though its titled to Ryan solo? |

that's probably my number one complaint about the new album as well... That and the lyrics seem a little weak this time out...
I consider Easy Tiger A Cardinals record. |
