Great show! Probably would have enjoyed it more if I’d realised I had tickets to last nights show and not tonight’s. Managed to get a spot outside the venue where I could see one of the screens and the sound was great at least.

Happy New Year, everyone. It's been a busy few months for me so I've been away. The big news in the gump household is that we are expecting a second child in May (God help us). Will try to come here more often when time allows.

Congratulations to you and your family, gump! :cute:

Friggin' Cobbler.

It was pretty devastating, I love them. Eventually I got through the worst of the feelings and when I found that spot where I could see a screen, it was okay. It's an outdoor venue, so of all the places in Melbourne for it to happen, this was the best one. Any other venue and I would have just had to go home, but to be able to see something and hear it really well made it a bit less painful. And I learned that if there are gigs there in future I can't get a ticket to or wouldn't mind taking in for free I can do so. Still a $200+ expense I could do without though.

I wish they'd play more of their newer/slower songs though. As one can see from my rankings, I far prefer those, and the album that gets the most love every night without fail is AM. Which is totally understandable, but it means I don't really love about half the set.

Glad you were able to make the most out of a bad situation. What did they play from TBH&C and The Car? I didn’t really get into AM until these last two albums, the latter being one of my favorite albums of 2022.

a few months ago i booked a hotel online for my honeymoon, then when we arrived we found out that we had booked it for the previous night and had to pay again. shit happens. we all learn the hard way to pay close attention to dates one way or another lol.

i'll die on the hill of this as one of the most underrated songs. it was a hit back in the day but it doesn't deserve to be as forgotten as it has.

Thank you for all the good wishes, folks. I really appreciate it.

Back in the spring I was at a bar with a friend of mine and he was talking about Mountain Goats show he had tickets to. It didn't take much convincing to get me to go with him, I was pretty wasted and remember being like AHH WHAT A GREAT BAND FUCK YEAH LET'S GOOOO!! I do remember looking at the ticket page but not much else.

On the night of the concert, I haul my ass all the way down to downtown LA and while I'm walking over to the venue, I notice that I don't have any tickets for the concert. I had a reminder to buy tickets that I evidently didn't pay attention to, but that wouldn't get me into the show.

My friend sees me, gives me a look and I start turning around to go home. It's after 8 and I'm tired and annoyed and just want to go home, but eventually my sunk cost hatred kicks in and I see if there are any tickets still available 30 minutes before the headliner goes on. Sure enough, there is ONE ticket for $8 left on Seatgeek. It was $25 face, so I saved a bunch of money and left with a good story. In the end, I got rewarded for being a drunken idiot, and it's all thanks to Seatgeek.

One of my friends missed seeing the Black Keys because she showed up to the venue on the wrong night. Probably happens more often than we think.

Australians everywhere are celebrating today, as George Pell, a convicted paedophile (later acquitted) who spent decades suppressing the Australian Catholic Church's systematic male child abuse, moving notorious paedos to different parishes, has died. We all hope it was a painful death and hope he enjoys rotting in hell :)

I watched about 20 minutes of the broadcast Dodger Stadium show and his voice sounded ROUGH. Really couldn’t bring myself to see the rest.

Prob not his best night and he’s running himself ragged on this tour, but I saw him on the pre-pandemic leg and he was excellent. Incredible *sounding* show, too. Crystal clear, well balanced, no distortion.

I was reading an article about Lisa Marie and her family history of bad genetics. On top of that, she had her hardships with drug use etc. even after death, theres a certain “group of people” attributing her death to getting “the jab”. It kind of sucks.
