I've still never listened to Around the Sun.

I would say a one time listen through would be worth your time, maybe when you are really really bored.

If anything it would give you an appreciation for how relatively good Accelerate and Collapse Into Now are...

or just make you sad how far they fell from the IRS years. :sad:
 
After spending a great deal of time with Patti Smith's discography, I've started to notice how cleverly E-Bow the Letter is structured as a duet. The two of them actually seem to handle each other's vocal parts, or at least what you would expect from them. Stipe's vocal is very, very Patti Smith, with words flowing and tumbling out like she would have on Birdland or some other Horses era track, and Smith delivers a low, rumbling harmony that Stipe usually kills. Man that's a great song.

Guess it's time for a new thread, but I don't want anyone to forget that REM broke up.
