This is one of the best performances I have seen/heard of the Pines of the Appian Way, the finale movement of Respighi's Pines of Rome.

The Tokyo Symphony performed this at the 2007/2008 New Year's Eve concert with the last note cutting off right at midnight. It's very moving. Gave me chills.
