As Martha correctly predicted in the last thread, I got a nice bunch of CDs today. Freshly delivered by the mailman, the following albums landed behind my front door:

Beck - Sea Change
Alice Cooper - Love It To Death
John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers - Blues Breakers With Eric Clapton
V/A - Radio 1's Live Lounge: Volume 4

Pre-ordered all three of these from Amazon last night:

"A Chorus of Storytellers" - Album Leaf
"Courage of Others" - Midlake
"Golden Archipelago (Deluxe)" - Shearwater

Extremely excited for all three.

i think i want to get that. tell me about it.

I still haven't listened to it yet. I wasn't home the past couple of days. I'll give it a spin this weekend and let you know.

In other news, when I got home today I found the following on my doormat:
dEUS - Worst Case Scenario (Deluxe Edition)

:hyper:

John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers - Blues Breakers With Eric Clapton
i think i want to get that. tell me about it.

I listened to it a couple of times. It's a nice blues album. Excellent British mid-60s blues. In my booklet there was also a review-blurb from an original review in Melody Maker which said that "it's all played relentlessly, bitingly and with feeling. But it's all one feeling. There isn't a spark of humour in anybody's playing..." Those guys (and especially Eric Clapton) were very serious about the blues back then. :)
But given that, it's good stuff.

And oh, the main reason for me posting now in this thread is:
The Beatles - Stereo Box Set (or however it's officially called)

Preordered the vinyl version of Shearwater - The Golden Archipelago (with cool 50 page perfect-bound book) last week sometime.

Very much looking forward to having the LP in my hands in a couple weeks.

stones - their satanic majesties request
say anything - self-titled

that was seriously all i could find worthwhile at the fye looks-like-we're-packing-it-in sale.

doves - kingdom of rust, but the good people of play sent me 'Ultimate Euphoria 3' or some s**t instead!!!!!
