I went to two estate sales today. I got the following for the grand total of... $31: :rimshot:

(first house)
guster - keep it together
cococoma - things are not all right
ty segall - melted

(second house)
the cure - wish
iggy pop - lust for life
blind melon - s/t
the new pornographers - electric version
the who - quadrophenia
beck - odelay
genesis - invisible touch
blur - 13
material issue - freak city soundtrack
cracker - kerosene hat
sonic youth - goo
galaxie 500 - this is our music
oasis - (what's the story) morning glory?
the sugarcubes - life's too good
bjork - debut
the black crowes - amorica
blondie - best of
fleetwood mac - s/t
edie brickell & new bohemians - shooting rubber bands at the stars

And that was picking through leftovers. And ignoring the vinyl, which looked pretty used and abused. Wish I could have been there yesterday. :crack:

estate sales? If that's what I think it means, I am so looking forward to people dying.

Like I wasn't already--who am I kidding?
This is not the text exchange between me and my best friend at work when either of us (we're paramedics) go for a cardiac arrest: "dead people!" "yeah!!" "woohooo!"

Well, technically, a bunch of the sales are just people who are downsizing, etc. Not sure what happened to the guy with the large music collection. I don't associate Loveless with people going into a nursing home, but who knows.

Regardless, that's the kind of stuff that keeps me going back to them. That, and the voyeuristic rush of going through people's personal effects. :D

Mastodon - 'The Hunter'

Also got the "newer" Lonely Island album / dvd combo dealio a few weeks ago, whatever it's called.

Bjorky - Biophiliay
M88 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming
Rob Crow - He Thinks He's People
Drive Original Soundtrack (digital download)

The Phantom Four & The Arguido - The Obscure EP
(bought as The Arguido is Rudeboy, former Urban Dance Squad rapper)

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - No More Shall We Part
U2 - Achtung Baby (Super Deluxe version)

:hmm: Which one to play first?

When I visited the used section of my favourite record shop in town this evening it looked like someone with a similar musical taste had turned in his music collection. Only, his (her?) collection complemented mine as there were many great albums I didn't have. Yay! I had to hold myself back and only did some cherrypicking, but this is what I came home with:
The Cure - Disintegration
De Raggende Manne - Zaad
Tindersticks - Tindersticks
Tindersticks - Tindersticks II

plus the singles:
Melissa Etheridge - Live
Simple Minds - 'Ballad Of The Streets'

Some more of the past week:
Garbage - Absolute Garbage
Houses - Clean Life
The Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
