They seemed to try to make their sound a little more "grown up", probably not wanting to any longer be associated with the sub-genre they helped create. The results are a strange mix of refreshing and disappointing. They still sound like themselves, and are enjoyable like always., but the songs are fairly forgettable on the first few listens. It still seems like a nice album, but it's definitely not one of their best.

Bought the vinyl version, actually. It comes with a big 16-page booklet (I think the same one as in the ltd. edition, but then LP sized), a weird poster (Grinderman as Roman soldiers???) and the album on CD too. Not bad. ![]() Now, let me check out the music... |
