Finally got around to this... I didn't really like it much. Every song felt kind of similar, with all the thunderous production going on. Lungs was more versatile in my opinion.

What The Water Gave Me is a fucking killer tune though.

^ it doesn't grab you by the throat and shake you like Lungs, granted; Ceremonials needs time and when you give it time the rewards are magical.

in other news, looks like Florence + The Machine are up for three awards; female artist, album of the year and producer of the year (Paul Epworth)

Aw, can't she come a little closer to Virginia? I don't want to travel very far to see her.

me too.. I live in Maryland but since there isn't a show in the area NJ is the closest thing. It's so worth the travel there. And it's on a saturday.. You should go!

I don't think my parents would take me- they took me to Baltimore for U2 but that's only cause it's so close and it was U2. But I'd go if I could take myself!

Tickets to the Milwaukee show at the Rave went on sale this morning. Not a bad price ($35). I picked up two GAs. The only problem is that I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to go.

I saw them on Saturday at the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee. Wow. I'm sold. I went with a very marginal knowledge of their music, but the show was perfect from beginning to end.

awesome.. glad you were impressed. Saw them open for U2 last June and I was sold right then and there. Beautiful voice with so much power that she could of sang without a mic and the whole stadium would of heard her as if she had one..

I can't wait for May12.. will be seeing her headline in Atlantic City.

Two disclaimers: 1) I'm well aware that I'm generally not very good at recording concerts. 2) This is the first time that I ever tried recording with our new camera. It took me a while to figure out that the zoom was not a good idea.

No midwest shows :\ Looks like I'll have to deal with Lollapalooza, Sound Town or a long drive to Indianapolis if I want to see her again this tour. Which I do. I left that concert with a feeling awfully similar to the first time I saw U2.

I thought maybe I was overreacting, but I talked to my sister (who has been to more concerts than I have) a few days later. She concurred, putting only U2 ahead of Florence. It was an incredibly powerful and uplifting show. And, again, I had a very limited knowledge of her or her music.

I was in such a daze afterwards. We actually met Tom, Isabella and Florence afterwards. I was standing next to my sister who telling Florence (who was in her pajamas!) how much she loved the show. Completely surreal.
