Bumped because having three threads about David Bowie on the first page is better than having three Red Hot Chili Pepper threads on the first page.

Apparently, Bowie topped poll as most wanted headliner for Glastonbury 2013, doubt it'll happen, but you never know.

browsing nme site other day, apparently he's decided to retire, well buggar me, if not releasing an album in 8yrs, and hardly any live appearances since 2006 weren't enough clues.

Listening to some early material at the moment, London Bye Ta Ta, I Dig Everything, Let Me Sleep Beside You, etc, this man is truly a genius, has he ever released anything other than musical excellence, and before anyone says Tin Machine, please go and listen to it again, and actually listen to it, and tell me Heavens In Here, Prisoner Of Love, I Can't Read, Under The God, Amazing, Baby Universal, One Shot, You Belong In R'n'R, Amlapura, Shopping For Girls, Goodbye Mr.Ed aren't classic BOWIE, the guy is a F*$KING GENIUS!!!!!

Tin Machine is awesome, I play the first album frequently. And it's better than anything else Bowie put out in the 80's aside from Scary Monsters.

Maybe something, maybe not, but according to the Bowie wonderworld site, Robert Fripp, posted an update on his own site about visiting Mr. Bowie, who "indirectly presented some interesting ideas" to him, also in attendance a certain Mr. Eno, something on the horizon involving Bowie, Eno, & Fripp?

Archive footage, believed to have been lost, of Bowie & The Spiders performing The Jean Genie, from 1973, is to be broadcast on a Top Of The Pops Christmas special on Weds. 21st Dec, BBC 2, 7:30pm, in the UK

Watching Dallas concert from the '78 tour on youtube at the moment, brilliant quality, great tour, Ziggy on right now, thank God for youtube brilliant way of seeing/hearing music/shows that otherwise may never see the light of day

40th anniversary release of TR&FOZiggy Stardust&TSFM heading for a top 40 position in the charts atm, not bad for an album thats 40years old, & has been re-released several times, wish the old buggar would release a new 1 sometime.

The single is stuck in my head. I like it, and the video, a whole lot. Brilliant news.

He dropped it on us, the sneaky old bastard.

"Secret secrets never seen..."

Welcome to the relaunched DavidBowie.com and a whole bunch of exciting new things that you've no doubt already found on the splash page.
The site is a work in progress right now as we continue to import historical data such as The Forum and past news, so please bear with us.

However, if you're anything like us you'll be too interested in David Bowie's new music to worry too much about anything else right now.

We'll leave you with the press release for The Next Day and Where Are We Now?, but be sure to pop back later today for more regarding all of this and more...

Where is David Bowie?

New Single and Pre-Order of First New Album in 10 Years Exclusively Launching on the iTunes Store Today

New York, NY--January 8, 2013--In the early morning hours of Tuesday the 8th January, Iso/Columbia Records released a new single by David Bowie titled 'Where Are We Now?' exclusively launching in the iTunes Store in 119 countries. David Bowie's first new album in ten years and his 30th studio recording, THE NEXT DAY is also available as a pre-order on iTunes with a wide release scheduled for March. January the 8th is of course David Bowie's birthday, a timely moment for such a treasure to appear as if out of nowhere.

Throwing shadows and avoiding the industry treadmill is very David Bowie despite his extraordinary track record that includes album sales in excess of 130 million not to mention his massive contributions in the area of art, fashion, style, sexual exploration and social commentary. It goes without saying that he has sold out stadiums and broken ticket records throughout the world during this most influential of careers.

In recent years radio silence has been broken only by endless speculation, rumor and wishful thinking ....a new record...who would have ever thought it, who'd have ever dreamed it! After all David is the kind of artist who writes and performs what he wants when he wants...when he has something to say as opposed to something to sell. Today he definitely has something to say.

Produced by long term collaborator Tony Visconti, 'Where Are We Now?' was written by Bowie, and was recorded in New York. The single is accompanied by a haunting video directed by Tony Oursler which harks back to David's time in Berlin. He is seen looking in on footage of the auto repair shop beneath the apartment he lived in along with stark images of the city at the time and a lyric constantly raising the question Where Are We Now?

"The moment you know, you know you know" resonates from the new single's lyric. Now we all know...David Bowie has been in the recording studio...just when we least expected it!!

Seriously...oh my God.

As I've mentioned in random a few times lately, I've been into Bowie in a big way the last couple months. I've loved him for a long time, but lately it's been a bit more of an active interest, and I've been in so much despair at the thought that he was probably never doing anything ever again. I can't even believe this news. I almost went to bed. Instead, one last cursory glance at Facebook revealed this. I can't believe it.

I can't believe it either. I have that David Bowie official page on facebook, and I liked the status about his birthday, and I was just about to do some homework when all of a sudden in scrolling down and I see the post.

I'm in shock. Fuckfuckfuck
