okay, i know for sure there was a crowded house thread and now i can't find it. oh well! new album, new thread.

news for anyone in new zealand:
TV3 (in NZ) were advertising that the Crowdies will be appearing on Campbell Live (7pm TV3) tomorrow night and it will be the 'world premiere' of their 'new single' Saturday Sun. The clip shown on the advert had the band playing the song in what appeared to be Neil's Studio (and it sounded great!).

album info:
the title of the album has been confirmed to be intriguer.

confirmed tracks (in the order they were posted on twitter, this might not be their order on the album):
archer's arrows
saturday sun
amsterdam
either side of the world
falling dove
isolation
intriguer
twice if you're lucky
even if
inside out
elephants

album cover:

ahh, it appears the other thread is in the archives. odd that i couldn't find it though as i didn't restrict my search to a particular forum.

more on topic though: campbell live sucks.

Twice if You're Lucky is a such a Crowded House song title.

can't wait. love this band to death, and even though they are all old and whatnot they're still making good music (i thought Time on Earth was pretty great) and their live shows are phenomenal.

Neil Finn is only 2 years older than Bono, so they're not that much older than U2 is.
Anyway, I have tickets to see them in Amsterdam! :hyper: Pretty good seats too (row 8).

Can't fucking wait to see the band next Thursday in Auckland. :hyper:

Hope the album is good - the new songs live in 2008 were very promising and I fully expect this to be a significant improvement on Time On Earth. I'm especially delighted that Isolation has made it; it has classic Crowdies written all over it. Disappointed to see Turn It Around, my other favourite new track in 2008, isn't in the tracklist, but perhaps it's under a new title? I haven't followed the chatter about the new album that closely to know.

The Crowdies return! :yippie:
Glad to hear some of you are attending upcoming shows, Would like to see some U.S. tour dates. Can't wait to hear about it & see clips on You Tube! Might have to break out some Crowded House tunes later in honor of this thread.

And according to a post on the Frenzforum, the setlist for the festival show they headlined on Sunday 3/28:

The sun did shine and wonderful to have Crowded House do there first show for 2010 in Perth.

It has been a long day so my eyes may have been playing tricks on me, but did I detect some fuzz on Neils upper lip??

there were some hidden gems on Time on Earth. Transit Lounge, She Walked Her Way Down, Silent House.

She Called Up, had it been released 20 years ago or whatever, would be as big as their big hits.

also: When You Come (live) probably in my top ten moments ever.

where are the US dates???
lol, i know. one canada date and a date in virginia = north american tour?

though in their defense, i heard an interview with neil on xm and he said he really wished they could play everywhere they wanted to, but there's just not the money to do it. i understand, it just sucks. but at least i feel less guilty since i won't be here then anyway. though it cracks me up that i'm in america when they play new zealand, and i'll be in new zealand when they play america.

 great beat.

spent a lot of time
in the transit lounge
i wasn't really sure
where i was going down
the papers i read
were all yesterday's news
not a hundred percent sure
what i did with my shoes
lying on the floor of a transit lounge
there'll be no announcements made

The only songs I return to regularly from that album are Silent House, Pour Le Monde, and Even A Child. The rest of the album is ... well, it's not bad, but it's just there. The fact it's not truly a band effort drags it down.

AEG/Goldenvoice - I assumed TM. I just followed the link in the emails I received. 2 GA tix with fees would be about $110. Reserved seating in the balcony is more. :sigh:

Thanks, Lila. Sadly, I missed out on the presale...I think? They're staggering out the sales right now, and the Chicago House Of Blues gig isn't on sale anywhere yet, so who knows. I'm going to assume the best and wait it out. I'm positive it'll sell out pretty quickly, so I'll be refreshing Ticketmaster a few times a day just in case.
