So, you name a band and write your 15 favorite songs. The catch is - the last letter of the 15th song by the poster right before you has to be the first letter of the 1st song of the band you choose. So basically, the song chooses the band.

Example: if there is God forbid a poor soul out there who has California as their 15th favourite U2 song (let's ignore the brackets please) and if the next guy's favorite Passengers song is A Different Kind of Blue, voila.

Wait... is Passengers a U2 album? And who the fuck would have A Different Kind of Blue as their favorite?

I shall commence with Yo La Tengo, with brief comments for the first 3 songs:

1. Blue Line Swinger - How to make a simple, catchy melody and then do a fantastic, noisy 9-minute jam out of it with beautiful Georgia Hubley vocals in-between? This is how!
2. Damage - Tons of atmosphere in this song, largely thanks to Ira's feedback. Great lyrics.
3. Our Way To Fall - The most beautiful opening in their catalogue. For a sweet love song, it doesn't get corny at all.
4. Big Day Coming
5. I Heard You Looking
6. We're an American Band
7. Green Arrow
8. Pass the Hatchet, I Think I'm Goodkind
9. More Stars Than There Are in Heaven
10. Don't Have To Be So Sad
11. Deeper Into Movies
12. Sudden Organ
13. Nowhere Near
14. Drug Test
15. Detouring America With Horns

No one wants to play your stupid game.

I can't think of any all-time favorite songs starting with S.

Also, 15 is too many. I wanted to use Bon Iver but would have named off their discography.

This is a fun idea, but a top five or ten might be easier.

1) Slow Show
2) Start a War
3) Abel
4) Mr. November
5) Murder Me Rachel
6) All the Wine
7) Fake Empire
8) Terrible Love
9) About Today
10) This is the Last Time
11) Secret Meeting
12) Slipped
13) Green Gloves
14) Karen
15) Available

Damnit just when I thought of a band where my favourite song begins with S (The Verve, who actually give me options: Space and Time is #1 and Star Sail and Slide Away are both probably top five), Ashley beats me to the punch.

Brian Eno

1. Everything Merges with the Night
2. Golden Hours
3. The Big Ship
4. Needles in the Camel's Eye
5. Burning Airlines Give You So Much More
6. Julie With...
7. I'll Come Running
8. St. Elmo's Fire
9. Fullness of Wind (Variation on the Canon in D Major by Johann Pachelbel)
10. Here He Comes
11. Spider and I
12. By This River
13. The Paw Paw Negro Blowtorch
14. Taking Tiger Mountain
15. On Some Faraway Beach

New rule! A band whose discography is smaller than five albums, a top 10 will suffice!

Available would be my no.1, while Slow Show could just be no. 15. ;)

But our top 10 is scarily similar.

I was waiting to do Bowie because I didn't want to be the one to do two back to back, but since it's so predictable and no one else played...

That one has way too many Urban Hymns songs.

Voyager 1 EP all the way.

Yeah, it probably does. It's in my top 5 favorite albums of all time. I haven't dug around their older stuff in a while.

I just went back and realized I left off a few good ones.
