Yes I know this will not be very popular here but I find Linkin Parks new album "A Thousand Suns" to be their best album. They are not trying to go back to their old roots but venture into new territory and expand their music away from the the Nu Rap Metal music they used to make. My favorite tracks thus far are

Burning the Skies

When They Come For Me

and finally

Wretches and Kings

Oh, I definitely agree. I'm loving this album. Reminds me a lot of late-era Nine Inch Nails when they added more techno elements. The trilogy of "Waiting for the End," "Blackout," and "Wretches and Kings" is incredible. Can't wait to see the songs live.

I've been a fan of LP for a decade now, before I was a U2-er, and with my first listen I wanted to cry. They said they wanted to create a new genre and I wasn't feeling the techno-reggae vibe. But after relistening and knocking out the 6 unnecessary tracks I feel in love. It is an ALBUM and not a collection of singles.

Favorites: "Robot Boy", "Waiting for the End", "Blackout"

Side note: "The Requiem"'s beginning reminded me of "Soon", just like "Shadow of the Day" was very "With or Without You"

Considering Linkin Park got a ton of criticism with their last album from a great deal of their fanbase, I think that "A Thousand Suns" is only going to be more divisive to those who love "Meteora".

And this is coming from someone who's not really a fan of the band, just someone who knows a lot of LP fans.

I think this is an album people are not going to "get"/ "understand."
