IO: First Snow Day of the Year

We're supposed to get some snow for New Years. All of the 25 inches that fell right before Christmas was washed away or melted from the rain we had last Saturday.

Oh man we've got new snow!! Last night it was a mad snowstorm!

And we've had our first official white christmas since 1981. Even though it wasn't white anymore in my place, it was in the city where our weatherstation is(de Bilt). And if it's a mat of snow there for both christmas days, it counts as a white christmas.

I can't remember not having a white Christmas--it's pretty much a guarantee up here! Hubby and I always talk about moving south when we're old--there's no way I'm going to be shoveling snow when I'm retired!

We're getting almost 2 feet tonight into tomorrow.

Another snow day today--Only the second one this year! We've been very lucky since the last couple of storms have stayed south of us--I guess it's our time now! The good thing is that it's really good snowman/snowball making snow!
