I hear the pain in your voice
Whenever you speak her name
My mind goes out of control
With thoughts that should bring me shame

I would give all that I have
If I could just hold your hand
Not that I possess that much
But I think you understand

Reality sucked the life
Out of your once vibrant soul
We're gonna all die someday
So, honey, let's rock and roll

When we realize how crazy we are
We'll sink down in the backseat of my car
Just hold each other and cry
As the traffic screams on by
The world goes on, but we're frozen in time
And a kiss from me isn't worth a dime
But if you stay on my scene
Then I will be your morphine

I never could face myself
So I don't blame you at all
But let me stay behind you
And I promise you won't fall

I will be your own shadow
That stays after the sun leaves
I'll silence all the monsters
That are tugging on your sleeves

Your dad sends love from backstage
I'm sure the same goes for mine
But now it's just you and me
A pack of smokes and cheap wine

When we realize how crazy we are
We'll sink down in the backseat of my car
Just hold each other and cry
As the traffic screams on by
The world goes on, but we're frozen in time
And a kiss from me isn't worth a dime
But if you stay on my scene
Then I will be your morphine

When I was in my car accident in August, they offered me morphine because I was in such awful pain, and I said no because I wanted to avoid needles. Well, they ended up jabbing me with a needle anyway to draw blood...it's like, damn, I should have just taken the morphine.

Well...when worked in with the lyrics in this thread...yeah, that sounds about right.
