France, precisely Dijon for mustard lovers
You weren't quite nineteen
Driving around in your little car,
I was carrying round my spleen,
I thought I wouldn't get very far.
In parties, we did meet,
Soon we couldn't spend time apart,
As abstract as concrete,
You threw back beats into my heart.

And with a look of your eyes,
You could've had one a little wise
And everyone would agree
But you picked me.

It was a time of reconstruction
To redefine our own course,
You had in mind the very junction
Where we will find our force.
You saved me from foundering
And you took me to the shore
Where I'm no longer wondering
If I'd ever be lost once more.

And with a snap of your fingers,
You could've had some of them singers
Getting down on one knee
But you picked me.

And years later, here we stand,
We've grown into a family
And we just walk hand in hand
With our children happily,
They're here to remind us
That we're not an accident,
And if I was presumptuous,
That your choice was pertinent.

And now I have you by my side,
I'm so glad that you had to decide,
Thankful enough I could not be
That you picked me.
