Where all the best ideas come from...

I wrote a poem about the place where everyone comes up with their best ideas! Its just a funny little thing, but I know you can all relate! And if not...well, im a freak.

Ah, the toilet?

Quite a useful instrument, as we all know
Hailed by all for its blessed suction hole.
And yet, the toilet has uses unsung, untold
For odd things happen sitting there alone

In a state of relaxation, thoughts are pure and deep
And more often than not, the mind will make a leap
Enlightenment strikes true and fast on the toilet seat.
Yet with no pen in hand, these gifts will turn and flee.

But now, with laptop resting warm upon my knee,
Never again will the toilet bear useless epiphany!
For I would say this computer?s mobility,
is the epoch of technology.

Finally, here, sitting on my muse,
I have a bright, shiny computer to use.
My fingers type as quick as thought, its true
Man meets Machine meets the Loo!

It is a highly productive combination,
that leads to amazing feats of creation.
When Mr. Griffith gave birth to a nation,
white ceramic seats must have been his inspiration.

That was fantastic! *L* And you're so right, I have so many ideas on the loo (or in the shower, pity you can't use a 'puter in there!).... A noble and eminently worthy ode to the seat of creation.

There's a few lines missing from the start of Genesis...
"In the beginning, God was on the toilet, and an Idea came to Him there...."

LOL, Alisaura. That scenario you just wrote about gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "primordial soup!"

Maybe thats what God had for supper the night before he began Ceation!

'Tis true, the pot can be a great place to think, or to pray (i.e., "god, I promise <blaaaaahhhhhh> I'll <burp> never drink again <burp> <blaaaaaaahhhhhhhh> ), you get the point

Anyway, some of my best thoughts have come while in the loo. The shower is a great place to. They say your mind is most active right before you go to bed and right after you get up. You should keep a pad of paper next to your bed to write down your ideas when they come to you. They need to make a water-resistant computer for the shower!
