When the Night Arrives (David Dream 1)

The sun sets again
the light slowly fades from my eyes
In my dream he is already there
when the night arrives

He calls out to me for help
He does not know my name
I start to run
Stopped by his voice
Pulled back by his pain

He reaches out of his dream
Pulling me beside him
Only to see his tearful blue eyes
Everything else is dim

Our lips meet in forgotten love
Tears fall from his eyes
forming a deep blue sea
We swim together over the
waves of ectasy

He holds me close
whispers in my ear
I only hear his voice
I promise to stay near

Deep into his eyes
is the reflection of the moon
changing into the rising sun
His dream is ending
Mine has just begun

Not wanting to let him go
I cry as I slowly fall
into the darkness of my eyes
I do not see him at all

I call out to him
I don't know his name
I can't hear his voice
Now I feel his pain

The sun rises again
arousing the light in my eyes
Saddened hearts left only to long for
When the night arrives
