The Gait Of U2's Journey

The spark of young spirits ignite a flame
to escape a world played as a game.
To overcome and conquer without fear
life's pain and pleasure was loud and clear.
Skillfully striving no matter the cost
to change the world, replace what was lost.
With boyhood innocence thet stated their claim
to climb that mountain... the rise to fame.
Instruments in hand and love in mind
stretching to reach the hearts of mankind.

I remember back then when they reached out to me
I heard the emotion... it was an endless sea.
The awakening they offered came from their soul
the ones missing the point ripped out a hole.
Yet still...
Four restless souls on a long journey are out to reach a goal.
Flirting with the highlights of the dark they insecurely receive the given toll.
Traveling at a moderate gait still searching for what is true
They patiently await destinations fate inchoherent to the hue.
(That's the gray matter I see in U2)
Reflecting on what has passed and what is yet to be
they're gracious to the Power Above for the gait in the journey so free.

What does gait mean? Is that like a horse?

Gait means "the manner of running or walking".
It's all in the movement. Could be a saunter or a jog.
I didn't expect a response but it feels good to be appreciated.
