The Forest Is Dark

The forest is dark
green as the depth of blackness
so solitude and scenic
now red with blood
stained forever with death
twisted metal and glass
as distance becomes
removed from a place where
time has forgotten its destination
torn apart lives now scattered about
amidst the leaves and trees
the forest is dark except for
the fires which consume and
ablaze the tormented land
eyes which stare from a distance
through the darkness of it all.

Actually it is my reflection of the recent airplane crash in Venezuela....my observer standpoint as I view the crash site.

Ah.......... reading it now, it paints a different picture than my original. But oddly enough, it fits within my original picture, just.... makes things more clear.


Through the eyes of the dead..................hmmmm......................

In my reading of The Hobbit the morning prior to the crash....it mentioned a dark forest...and about eyes in the distance....and somehow after the crash occurred I was drawn to the site...and the reading for the day made sense.

An omen of the day before...I was getting a quarter from my wallet to buy a drink. I picked up the quarter....but I was somehow drawn to it...it was the size of a quarter but instead it was a coin from the Republic of Panama...so I kept it for my treasure trove. The flight that crashed in Venezuela the next day originated in Panama. But that's how omens work.....

Eyes of the dead are often still open so that was what intriqued me about the eyes in the distant......and then the eyes of the rescuers seeing the darkness of it all.
