These are the Tears
These are the tears from the eyes of a soldier
They come from a place of love and respect
The knowledge of pain and the heartache of wonder
From knowing his jobs not done yet
Many of been and few ever want to
He sees fear which holds us to a fate we'll regret
These are the words from a man who has been there
He stands on the hill, his burden to share
If others would come then less he would wonder
What does it hold for them here
Hope never leaves and spirit it moves him
Arms they surround to protect and to care
This is the soul who has long fought for justice
Through innocence of child and wisdom of man
Seeking the answers through finding his way
Others would wonder and rumours abound
Lacking in knowledge is their wrong assumption
When we all should be longing for the message he found
These are the tears from the eyes of a soldier
