Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this one before I put it "away" so to speak. Even if you don't like it I wouldn't be hurt if you told me why!

It gives me the feeling that the protagonist is in a really pathetic state. By that I mean, it's such a desperate situation to be in. And the hope at the end... well, to me, the situation seems hopeless, somehow.

I know, I'm just commenting on the content, not the style, which is irrelevant of me!

Hey, I like the yearning that you're portraying in this piece. Very keen sense of want and desire. I hope the narrarator finds the one they're looking for.

You're right, foray - the situation does seem hopeless and desperate. The narrator is kind of clinging to hope when there isn't any, or not much anyway.
