I'm headed down a one way street
The place I'm going, there's no one to meet
The ground is uncertain under our feet
Don't know where I'm going
But I know I can't go back
The walls are painted red
They soon will fall
And the truth is
I never knew anything
Nothing at all

Staggering at every step in pitch black

In the wind, there are whispers
Whispers and footsteps
Of the disappeared
Ones who knew
It was only themselves
Whom they feared

Peered into the eyes of the devil
Burning red
Angels sirens
Aching in their head

On the border
Of heaven and hell
In the darkness
There are only flashlights
And a decent man's yell
A certain danger
And a ringing bell

Sidewalks scatter
All leading to nowhere fast
"Run or we'll blow you down
Run or we'll blow you down
We know how long you can last"
They're at your door
They're at your door
We can't take much more

We're sliding back
Again and again
Flickering lights
And broken thoughts

WOW! The first stanza really blows me away. "And the the truth is I never knew anything. Nothing at all." You have no idea how much that one line hits home with me.
