Sinister Aristocrats

At what point do capitalism and corruption intersect?
At what point do free markets and exploitation become synonymous?

Sinister aristocrats
Build luxurious castles, and extravagant kingdoms
Upon the backs of broken and bleeding workers
Who they pretend to care about

Prosperity doesn't trickle down
It accumulates at the top
Misery doesn't accumulate at the top
It floods down, washing away hopes and dreams

Corrupt politicians are mercenaries for Corporate America
Paid to assassinate any form of regulation
That stand in the way of unbridled greed
Through the economic rape of common men and women

Sinister aristocrats are hungry wolves in sheep’s clothing
Disguised they speak of opportunity and prosperity
Secretly they salivate at the mouth
Longing to sink their greedy teeth
Into unsuspecting flesh
And taste the profit
At what point will we finally wake up?
At what point will we finally stand united against the wolves?

1) Introspection

When I needed angels
I found devils in disguise
For the longest time
I was afraid to tell the difference

You fractured my faith
You shattered my soul

I was blessed with devils hands
And promised salvation
But I won't sell my soul to get to heaven

But I've picked up the pieces
And looked inside myself

Today, I'm happy with who I am

2) Think For Yourself

You told me
Deny yourself every carnal desire
Or prepare to burn
Hell, brimstone, and fire
You don't own your soul
It belongs to me
In the name of Jesus
Set this sinner free

You can say whatever you want
But I won't be a victim of salvation submission
Or fear of perdition

I've found the courage to think for myself
And I realize that my sexuality belongs to me

3) Perspective Eternity

Don't we all have to rationalize death somehow
Whether it be by religion, or some other means
We all have our beliefs, theories, and ideas
But how can we be certain

With so many different beliefs
Which ones are right, and which ones are wrong
Is there an exclusive afterlife
Or is death what we make of it
Do our perspectives define our eternity

4) Sweet Sweet Soulmates

Everyday, my love for you grows
Filling my heart, till it overflows

Crystal blue eyes
And strawberry lips
Velvet white skin
And beautiful hips

With kisses so deep
And caresses so sweet
I slide into serenity
And find paradise
When we make love

So from the depths of my soul
To the heights of my heart
I promise you darling
We'll never part

Because we're soulmates
Sweet sweet soulmates

1) Religion

Is religion a necessary institution
Would society slip into a state of chaos and anarchy without it
Certainly, religion has many positive aspects
But it also has many negative aspects

Think of how many people have been killed in the name of religion
Think of how many people have been discriminated against in the name of religion

Religion is full of hypocrisy
Sometimes the authorities, are guilty of the exact thing they're preaching against
Yet they still expect you never to think for yourself
And to trade your individuality for salvation

Think of how many people have been killed in the name of religion
Think of how many people have been discriminated against in the name of religion

How can people discriminate, hate, and kill in the name of religion

2) When There are No Angels

When there are no angels
And there is a tragedy
Some people blame God
If He loves us
How could He let this happen

One of two things is true
Either we are like robots
With no free will, or control over our destiny
Or we have free will

Then God would be contradicting our free will
By stepping in and preventing tragedy

Also, it's easy to blame God
But the truth is, that as humans, we created the demons of hate, violence, and greed
How can we expect God to save us
From our own evil creations

But if we can create demons
Then we can also create angels
Angels of compassion, forgiveness, and understanding
Instead of looking to the sky
We should look to change the world right in front of us

3) Victim to Villain

Your pain is overwhelming
And your suffering brutal
Anger, insecurity, and confusion
These emotions can lead to revenge

You slowly become venomous
As demons of hate grow inside you
Misery loves company
And you're making us reservations in hell

The circle of violence continues
Because killing, only leads to more killing
You've spilled blood
And given the demons of hate to another

It doesn't have to be this way

4) Discrimination

To deny someone love is a cruel thing
But they've got to keep their morals straight

How can you make love illegal
How can you make love a sin
Why is marriage only between a man and a woman

They can offer reasons
And call it whatever they want
But to me it seems like discrimination

5) Politics

Watch the politicians lie on TV
They lie to make you afraid
Once they have your fear, they have control
Democracy shouldn't be based on fear

Watch the corrupt politicians defend their views
If you disagree, you're not a patriot
If you disagree, you don't care about our country
What happened to our democracy

I see America as a beautiful country
But it's not perfect
There are flaws
If we don't stand up for change
How will things ever get better

6) Greed

Capitalism is bittersweet
And greed seems to have replaced compassion
The system is filled with corruption
And the government doesn't seem to care

Watch the venomous vanish
They take the money and run

Eloquent words
And sophisticated speeches
They say all the right things
But do they really care about you

7) Only in Dreams

We had breakfast in bed
And then rode a shooting star to the top of the rainbow
I sang of our love with a chorus of angels

We had dinner in a field of roses
And then rode a shooting star to the moon
Watching the sunset-
I sang of our love with a chorus of angels

However, when the sun finished its descent-
You shed a tear
Telling me that…

Only in dreams could we kiss
And only in dreams could I feel the warmth of your love
Only in dreams…

I awoke in a cold sweat of freezing tears

8) Dragon Fire Kisses

You re-hydrate my heart
And give me a soul inside
All I ever want is your love

I can look into your eyes
And gaze into a mystical paradise
All I ever want is your love

With lips like the smooth ocean current
Pulling my loneliness out to sea
With kisses like a dragon's fire
Burning away all my depression

All I ever want is your love

So confident in our love-
I'd swim with the sharks
After bathing in the blood of your heart

Thirteen Tigers

Walk up to the gate in the ancient wilderness
Seven cobras guard the sacred waterfall
Cross the wooden bridge to the mystic portal
Thirteen tigers guard the passage between realms

Step through the sands of time, to another life
See the threads of destiny, which connect your life
See the threads of fate, which connect us all
See how love can rise like the phoenix
From the ashes of violence and war

Journey through a kingdom of hypocrisy
Past the aristocracy, and the corrupt elegance
Past the theocracy, and the soothing eloquence

Arrive in a town of mysterious lunacy
Where no one has a shadow, or reflection
Where women dance naked, and cry redemption

When the final grain of sand falls from the hourglass
The reaper will laugh at your mea culpa
And your deathbed epiphany, to finally seize the day
For even the reaper cannot stop time
From eventually devouring us all

Mortality is melting away
Like a careless vampire
Who gets caught in the sunrise

The sorcerer is laughing
Cause the sky is falling
Memento Mori
A new day is calling
