Hello. This was a stream-of-conscience piece I wrote today. It's a very abstract work, but it's basically about two lovers and what one of them feels through their own eyes. Hope you like it!

In my hands, I hold your necklace
And call out your name.
Waiting on the beach,
I know our love has not yet finished.

Sometimes, beneath the sunrays that fall,
I see images of your smile.
Though washed away by a succumbing moon
The afterglow still lasts for a while.

My friends sometimes tell me,
They tell me,
"Why is there only sunshine at dawn?"
They tell me,
"Why do the clouds fall before the rain is gone?"

And I tell them…

<Chorus>

Though there are clouds in the distance,
The sun is out now.
Let the sunrays lift your spirits,
Never stop to wonder how.

<End chorus>

Somewhere out in the distance,
A flower is growing.
Toppled by a man’s succumbing weight,
But beneath lies a nurtured sapling.

Sometimes, behind those images of your smile
I see a frown.
They share the same mask,
And it’s one I’ve known for a while.

My friends sometimes tell me,
They tell me,
"Why is there only sunshine at dawn?"
They tell me,
"Why do the clouds fall before the rain is gone?"

And I tell them…

<Chorus>

Though there are clouds in the distance,
The sun is out now.
Let the sunrays lift your spirits,
Never stop to wonder how.

<End chorus>

Out there in the far-away landscape,
Bluebirds flock to an oak tree.
From the gaze of your closing eyes,
I sense that you’re both somehow free.

Sometimes, before the rain is gone,
I feel your gentle breeze.
I feel like I almost reached you on the other-side,
Even though I’m all alone before too long.

My memories sometimes tell me,
They tell me,
"Why is there only sunshine at dawn?"
They tell me,
"Why do the clouds fall before the rain is gone?"

And I tell them…

<Chorus>

Though there are clouds in the distance,
The sun is out now.
Let the sunrays lift your spirits,
Never stop to wonder how.

<End chorus>

Beneath the tall palm trees,
Two lovers are making love.
The rising tide is ravaging,
But we hadn’t had enough.

Sometimes, when I’m all alone,
I remember your dying words.
I sometimes wonder if I’ll ever forget them,
But my heart tells my mind “no”.

My voices sometimes tell me,
They tell me,
"Why is there only sunshine at dawn?"
They tell me,
"Why do the clouds fall before the rain is gone?"

And I tell them…

<Chorus>

Though there are clouds in the distance,
The sun is out now.
It won’t last for very long,
So let us stop to wonder how.

<End chorus>

“So let us stop to wonder how.”
Those were your dying words, dear?
I think I remember now.

Very well written. I'm just not into the lover's thing....right about now I'm having a hard time trying to find love in this world. Seems everyone is out for themselves. But if you believe in love.......it's fine too.
