perfection
you say i'm perfection
life is full of illusions
you're having dillusions
i can't reach it, or come close
but you've forced it on me
now it's my goal, however distant
runs my life, ruins my life
fuels my fears
causes strife and pain
for perfection is my name

perfection
simple for you to say
complicates my day
tunnel vision or motivation
are they the same?
a simple characteristic that people use
you abuse
now i'm confused
now i'm not good enough for you
now i'm mundane all the same
yet perfection is my name

Oh, hell, I started writing this long reply, but I started rambling, and it didn't make sense anymore. Therefore, I came to the conclusion that I can't put it in words. But I love this poem. Very nice.

interesting, this could be read as if the narrator is talking to someone in specific (i.e., a lover, a friend a family member, etc, someone that has high expectations and is exerting pressure), or it could be read like a conversation with one's self, trying to deal with one's own expectations
