I watch you from afar
Peer into your eyes
Drink in your soul
You?re a part of me

We have obligations
That we cannot break
But I cannot hide
What you mean to me

And you cannot pretend
That the spark isn?t there
You cannot deny
That I fill your thoughts

I say truthful lies
So that I don?t reveal
The things that would
Ruin what we have

I want to hold you
To whisper those words
But I cannot risk it
They will all hear

The thing that we have
Is what we don?t have
But I will cherish it
Until the end of time...

Wow - I really like this poem, Bonochick! Not just that I relate very well to the subject, but you present it really well.

Okay- get OUT of my brain! I have a friend who has made me feel like this for years. However, recently I think I may have finally let go. I'm a big believer in destiny and what is supposed to work out always will. What a great poem- like a window into a soul.
